Winchester & Western Railroad Company Honors Shipping Safety with Community Donation to Bedington Fire Department

OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Awards presented to local rail shippers that have demonstrated spotless rail safety excellence

August 16, 2022 – Martinsburg, W.Va. – Winchester & Western Railroad Company (W&W) a managed affiliate of OmniTRAX – The Broe Group’s transportation affiliate – presented a $3,000 community donation to the Bedington Volunteer Fire Department at a ceremony honoring W&W’s Virginia Division recipients of the 2021 OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award. The OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award recognizes companies that model exemplary shipping safety by shipping or receiving loaded cars with no accidental releases during the previous year.

“OmniTRAX is proud to salute our W&W shipping partners that have modeled operational shipping safety,” said OmniTRAX Senior Vice President of Operations John Bradley. “These award winners epitomize selfless service and care for their community.”

The 2021 OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award recipients for the W&W’s Virginia Division are: Allmine Paving, Associated Asphalt, and P&G. $1,000 contributions were made to the Bedington Volunteer Fire District in each award winner’s name.

“The Bedington Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to maintaining the safety of the people and property within Berkeley County, and we salute these award winners’ commitment to safety,” said Fire Chief David Brining. “We thank the W&W for this generous donation that helps our volunteer firefighters protect our community.”

The Bedington Volunteer Fire Department serves the greater Berkeley County in northeastern West Virginia.
