Summary:

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for optimizing margins.  This is accomplished through coordinating pricing support functions within the Pricing Department, including accurate and timely preparation of price quotes, price adjustments, pricing analysis, pricing maintenance, implementing customer contract pricing, and delivering customer service to meet needs of both external and internal customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify margin opportunities based on current business and competitive market dynamics
  • Assist in the administration of commercial agreements providing seamless customer value
  • Confirm price records are set up per expectations and in accordance with business needs and contracts
  • Create and maintain reports for the Pricing Department that highlight expiring rates and other information
  • Ensure all pricing activities are performed in a timely manner with high efficiency
  • Maintain pricing by identifying price discrepancies, determining cause and taking corrective actions
  • Understand and utilize optimal internal mechanisms in GE Transportation RMI System and CRM to build pricing framework that best matches the pricing strategy defined
  • Validate price records periodically in tandem with commercial and business organizations to ensure that only required and current pricing is in the system
  • Research and report on pricing trends

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Marketing preferred
  • 5 years’ experience can be substituted with appropriate experience in logistics or price management
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, graphs); Access experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of GE Transportation RMI System (or Ship Xpress), CRM and Sharepoint strongly preferred
  • Transportation (Railroad) Industry Experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills are required
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills
  • Must have strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks
  • Strong learning aptitude for new systems in business related applications and tools
  • Able to work within an empowered team environment
