Food drive challenge for chance at VIP train tour with Santa

WINDSOR, COLO. – Dec. 06, 2019 – Santa is giving his reindeer a day off this year as he hops aboard a classic railcar and heads to the Windsor Wonderland festival Dec. 7th from noon to 5pm.

In what has become a beloved town tradition, the Great Western Railway of Colorado, LLC (GWR), an affiliate of OmniTRAX, Inc., transports Santa to the festival on its historic Yellowstone railcar and offers one lucky family the chance to tour the train and enjoy cookies and cocoa with Santa.

“We love giving baWindsor Wonderland 1ck to the communities where we operate, and this event is one of our favorites to be a part of,” said OmniTRAX CEO Kevin Shuba.

Tickets for the VIP experience and tour are available at the Windsor Rec Center (250 N. 11th St, Windsor, CO 80550) in exchange for packaged, non-perishable items. Items will be accepted until Dec. 6th.  The winner will be allowed to bring immediate family only with them aboard the train.  All donated food will go to the Faith United Church Food Pantry.  The winner will be drawn and announced on November 30th.  The winner and their family will enjoy cookies and hot cocoa with Santa right after his arrival in town, and then board the train for a private tour.

The Yellowstone famously carried Teddy Roosevelt across the country during his 1900 whistle-stop campaign tour.  Originally built in 1898, it has since been fully restored.  It is a true classic, and people travel from all over Colorado for the chance to take pictures outside the train.

Santa will arrive at Windsor Wonderland by train at noon.  The day will be filled with coffee, cocoa, cookies, s’mores, a snowball fight, live holiday performances, tons of crafts and more.
