Great Western Railway continues tradition of bringing Santa to Windsor Wonderland on historic Yellowstone railcar
Posted On: November 29, 2018

WINDSOR, COLO. – What could be more fun this holiday season than cookies, hot cocoa and the chance to hang out with Santa on an old-time railcar?

In keeping with tradition, the Great Western Railway of Colorado, LLC (GWR), an affiliate of OmniTRAX, Inc., will be transporting Santa to the Windsor Wonderland festival on their historic Yellowstone railcar, and for the second year in a row they’re offering one lucky family the chance to tour the train and enjoy a VIP experience with Santa.

“Giving back to the communities where we operate is one of our core values, and that is why we love being part of this event,” said OmniTRAX CEO Kevin Shuba.

Tickets for the VIP experience and tour are available at the Windsor Rec Center (250 N. 11th St, Windsor, CO 80550) in exchange for packaged, non-perishable items. You will be able to drop off these donation items between November 27th through Noon on November 30th. The winner will be allowed to bring immediate family only with them aboard the train.  All donated food will go to the Faith United Church Food Pantry.  The winner will be drawn and announced on November 30th.  The winner and their family will enjoy cookies and hot cocoa with Santa right after his arrival in town, and then board the train for a private tour.

The Yellowstone famously carried Teddy Roosevelt across the country during his 1900 whistle-stop campaign tour.  Originally built in 1898, it has since been fully restored.  It is a true classic, and people travel from all over Colorado for the chance to take pictures outside the train.

Santa will arrive at Windsor Wonderland by train at noon.  The day will be filled with coffee, cocoa, cookies, s’mores, a snowball fight, live holiday performances, tons of crafts and more.
