Winchester and Western Railroad Supports Fire Safety with Donation to Berkeley County Fire Service Board

OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award presented to three local Berkeley County companies with spotless rail safety records

Martinsburg, W.Va.  – Winchester & Western Railroad Company (WW), a managed affiliate of OmniTRAX – the Colorado based transportation affiliate of The Broe Group, today presented a contribution to the Berkeley County Fire Service Board at a ceremony honoring three local recipients of the inaugural OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award. The OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award is presented to companies that modeled exemplary shipping safety by shipping or receiving loaded cars with no accidental releases during the previous year.

The 2020 OmniTRAX Safe Shipper Award recipients on the WW are Allmine Paving, LLC, Associated Asphalt of Martinsburg, LLC, and The Procter & Gamble Manufacturing Co. $1,000 contributions were made in the name of each safety award recipient.

“Allmine Paving, Associated Asphalt and Procter & Gamble represent the best of what a shipper can be for the communities they operate in by being safe neighbors. As a tribute to their shipping safety we are investing in community safety by supporting first responders like the Berkeley County Fire Service Board,” said OmniTRAX Chief Operating Officer Gord Anutooshkin Chief.

Berkeley County Council President Doug Copenhaver Jr. said the donation will have a positive and very real impact on efforts to keep the community secure. “It is thoughtful for the Winchester & Western Railroad and OmniTRAX to value community safety and honor their safest customers that model the way,” he said.
