We get that question all the time. LTL shipping means “less than truckload.” You might hear it when compared to FTL, or “full truckload.” Typically, LTL shipments are between 150 and 20,000 pounds.

With “less than truckload” shipping, shipments you have which are smaller (yet still too large for most parcel carriers) are collected by our truck and then sent to a sorting facility, where they are rearranged and sorted according to final destination. LTL usually takes longer than full-truck shipments because of this additional sorting time.

The benefit of LTL shipping is the cost. Because you’re not using the space of a full-size container, you pay a fraction of the cost.
