Port Muskogee and OmniTRAX Forge Strategic Rail Partnership to Drive Industrial Growth
MUSKOGEE, Okla. – May 28, 2025 – Port Muskogee has signed a Railroad Facilities Operating Agreement with OmniTRAX, one of the nation’s fastest-growing private infrastructure companies, naming it the exclusive operator of the Port Muskogee Railroad (PMR). This strategic partnership will enhance rail service, support industrial growth, and expand multimodal access for existing and future industry in Muskogee.
Over the past 18 months, Muskogee has announced more than $4.1 billion in new capital projects, reinforcing its role as a vital driver of Oklahoma’s economy. Statewide, Oklahoma’s ports generate over $500 million in annual economic impact and support more than 5,000 jobs.
“This is a big win for Muskogee and a big win for Oklahoma,” said Governor Kevin Stitt. “Port Muskogee is securing world-class rail services that will drive job creation, support industrial growth, and strengthen our position as a top destination for commerce. It’s further proof that Oklahoma is open for business and focused on the future!”
Under the agreement, OmniTRAX will manage rail operations on port-owned tracks, delivering reliable, scalable, and customer-centric rail services tailored to meet the needs of Muskogee’s expanding industrial base.
“OmniTRAX brings the expertise, experience, and national reach that align with our vision for growth,” said Kimbra Scott, Executive Director of Port Muskogee. “With a strong U.S. rail network, close relationships with Class I railroads, and a dedicated team focused on Muskogee, this partnership enables better service, smarter freight solutions, and new opportunities for industrial expansion.”
Muskogee offers unmatched access to the 4Rs—Rail, Road, River, and Runway—making it the only micropolitan community in Oklahoma with all four modes of freight transportation. Strategically located on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, with Foreign Trade Zone status and year-round navigable access to the Gulf of America, the Port connects global markets to inland America. With more than 1,000 acres of developable industrial land and a diverse industrial base—including advanced manufacturing, energy technology, construction materials, and food processing, Muskogee is uniquely positioned for long-term growth.
“OmniTRAX is excited to expand our Oklahoma rail service to now include Port Muskogee,” said OmniTRAX Co-CEO Dean Piacente. “We are proud to bring our best-in-class rail service and safety to Muskogee, and we look forward to being an active community partner.”
The Port Muskogee Railroad becomes the 30th railroad in the OmniTRAX network, and the fifth U.S. port partnership for the company. OmniTRAX is the transportation and infrastructure affiliate of The Broe Group, a Colorado-based investment and development firm.
