Storage-in-Transit (“SIT”)
All of OmniTRAX’s shortline railroad operations have track capacity available for railcar storage. Shortline railroads are attractive as locations for loaded railcar storage-in-transit (SIT), in which large blocks of loaded railcars are delivered to the railroad for temporary storage and then forwarded on to various final receivers as needed in smaller batches or individually, thanks to our flexible switching service.

RAILCAR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
You lose time and money when railcars are out of service. OmniTRAX specializes in Field Maintenance Operations (FMO) to ensure that the mechanical condition and velocity of your rolling stock assets are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. We keep your railcars compliant, in service, and out of the shop with field inspections, servicing, and repairs. While our expert mechanics normally execute these services in our plant and terminal operations, we may also provide response services through Mobile Repair Operations (MRO) to give a complete fleet solution.
Scrapping Services
The job of a railcar does not finish when it is damaged or reaches the end of its useful life. When an old railcar is removed for scrap, it can supply useable parts. OmniTRAX offers a large staff of recycling and scrap professionals who specialize in properly scrapping your railcar.
