Winchester & Western Railway Employees Volunteer to

Support Loaves & Fishes Food Bank’s Growing Needs

MARTINSBURG, WV – OmniTRAX, Inc. and its affiliate Winchester and Western Railway (W&W) are funding 220,000 meals to help CCAP/Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry serve Eastern West Virginia while pledging volunteer employee support to help feed the hungry. 12.08.20OmniTRAX COO Gord Anutooshkin joined local officials at the food bank’s office today to share the company’s commitment to the region.

“As the people of West Virginia continue to wrestle with the economic and public health challenges from the pandemic, food insecurity is a serious problem,” said Anutooshkin. “The communities we serve are important to us and by contributing our time and resources, we can help CCAP/Loaves & Fishes battle local hunger and serve more people in need this winter.”

Berkeley County’s Congregational Cooperative Action Project (CCAP), Inc. was founded in 1982 by representatives of 16 Berkeley County churches for the purpose of providing emergency food and financial assistance to low income and underserved residents of Berkeley County. When the food pantry was opened, the name became CCAP/Loaves & Fishes.

“This generous pledge will have a meaningful impact on our local community while really helping us achieve our mission,” said Beverly Van Metre, President CCAP/Loaves & Fishes.

The Winchester and Western Railroad operates in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and New Jersey communities. The Virginia Division has 53 miles of track running through the Shenandoah Valley.

“OmniTRAX continues to be an active and strong community partner. Their involvement in and support of this and many other non-profit agencies throughout the year is exceptional. Berkeley County is truly fortunate to have a leading transportation company of such high caliber doing business here.” said Berkeley County Council President Douglas E. Copenhaver, Jr.
