POSITION SUMMARY:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full life-cycle recruiting. They will use their experience and skills to build new recruiting processes and strategies.  They will collaborate with field hiring managers to identify staffing needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Screen resumes, interview candidates (by phone or in person), make recommendations for hire (or not hire), and create offer letters
  • Use traditional and non-traditional resources to identify and attract quality candidates
  • Develop advertising programs (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates
  • Manage internal transfer process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, transfer offer letters, etc.
  • Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting process
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers to ensure achievement of staffing goals
  • Work with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations
  • Manage current candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge specific to recruiting strategies and searches across multiple industries
  • Creates recruitment desktop procedures and interview training guides in conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Manager
  • Creates weekly reporting of staffing metrics to meet deliverables
  • Assists hiring managers with the development of job descriptions
  • Attends job fairs as needed
  • Develops community outreach programs to build a diverse candidate pool
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.  Equivalent HR experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of recruiting experience in a corporate environment
  • Diversified recruiting background across multiple industries, locations, and tiers of employment
  • Prior experience with applicant tracking systems (UltiPro is a plus)
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and correspond with multiple departments at different business levels simultaneously
  • Develop and execute sourcing and recruiting strategies
  • Service oriented attitude with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to independently prioritize tasks, and consistently “follow up” and provide progress updates to appropriate personnel in a timely fashion
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in phone etiquette, as well as in person, in all work-related interactions within and outside of the organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • High volume recruiting experience
  • Industry experience in Transportation/Logistics
  • PHR or SHRM-CP
  • Project management skills
