Senior Risk Management Analyst

As a key contributor to the Risk Management function, this position works directly with key stakeholders across multiple lines of business and at all levels of the organization.  The Senior Risk Management Analyst plans, implements, administers, and analyzes a wide variety of risk management and insurance program activities.  Additionally, the role will actively support the design, education, and implementation of an enterprise risk management framework and serve as a resource to risk owners throughout the organization.


  • Support the procurement and administration of all insurance programs including risk identification and assessment, preparation of underwriting submissions, and policy review
  • Manage property and casualty claims effectively and efficiently; report all potential matters to carriers and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure claims are properly investigated and processed to achieve timely resolution
  • Administer FELA (Federal Employers Liability Act) workplace injury cases, workers’ compensation, and auto liability claims; work with claimants, carriers, adjusters, third-party administrators, nurse case managers, other medical professionals, and various internal departments
  • Communicate with Human Resources, Safety, and Operations to administer Modified Duty and Return to Work programs
  • Assist Legal with all litigated matters and facilitate communication with insurance carrier representatives.
  • Maintain and manage reporting of accurate claims experience on all lines of insurance for multiple lines of business
  • Review and approve contractual insurance requirements with guidance from Director of Risk Management; manage requests for certificates of insurance and verify third-party compliance
  • Administer loss control program for real estate affiliate including policy and procedure development and periodic site evaluations
  • Participate in and perform tasks associated with mergers and acquisitions due diligence and integration of new assets and employees
  • Monitor key performance and risk indicators to assist in early identification of risk trends; support risk identification, analysis, validation and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Provide advice and guidance to all stakeholders on risk management and insurance matters; handle technical inquiries or requests
  • Develop, update, and implement department policies and procedures to support the continuous improvement of the Risk Management function
  • Assist with implementing an enterprise risk management framework including data aggregation, review and consolidation of risk registers, and reporting to senior management
  • Serve as the Risk Management Information System (RMIS) expert responsible for ensuring data integrity, verifying accuracy, and assessing system functionality
  • Prepare allocations and track all payment transactions for insurance premiums and broker fees
  • Ensure proper maintenance and organization of all departmental files and compliance with document retention policies
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in risk management/commercial insurance
  • Must be highly motivated and detail oriented with desire to assume a wide array of responsibility
  • Firm knowledge of risk management and insurance concepts, practices and procedures
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, collaboration and leadership skills
  • Strong time and project management skills including the ability to plan, schedule, delegate, organize and prioritize work
  • Strong analytical and problems-solving skills; must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must be willing and able to adapt to situational and organizational changes
  • Ability to travel seasonally (10%) to operating locations in the U.S. and Canada
