OmniTRAX Takes Fifth GE Transportation Fast Track Award In Four Years For Deploying ISS At Georgia & Florida Railway
Posted On: July 18, 2016

DENVER – OmniTRAX, Inc., one of the largest privately held transportation services companies in North America and an affiliate of The Broe Group, received a 2016 Fast Track Award from the 27th Annual General Electric Transportation User Conference in Atlanta on June 22, 2016. The company’s Georgia & Florida Railway, LLC (GFRR) earned the honor for the deployment of Railinc’s Interline Settlement System (ISS) in partnership with Norfolk Southern Railway, CSX Transportation and GE Transportation’s Digital Solutions business. ISS is the standard process in the rail industry to share revenue when two or more railroads handle a shipment.

“We are pleased to receive this prestigious industry award from GE Transportation. The team here in Denver and at Georgia & Florida Railway did a great job planning and implementing the ISS so that our customers were kept fully informed during the process and issues were kept at a minimum,” said John Couch, Vice President of Pricing at OmniTRAX.

The GE Transportation Fast Track Awards honors an elite group of leaders in the rail industry that have excelled in the marketplace with the use of GE’s rail software and solutions to optimize assets, operations, and networks. Now in its 11th year, the Fast Track Awards recognize GE Transportation’s customers – railroads, rail shippers, and logistics service providers – who have raised the standard for operating performance in the use of rail software and solutions to drive automation, increase productivity, and address mission-critical business issues.

The Georgia & Florida Railway operates 264 miles of track commencing from its Albany, GA headquarters, and running into northwestern Florida near the Gulf of Mexico. GFRR’s commodity mix includes wood pulp, beer, ethanol, agricultural commodities, limestone/ aggregate and other commodities. The railroad launched ISS to standardize its financial system and enhance its revenue applications. Benefits from the deployment include captured more revenue, reducing data entry, improved data analytics and more

OmniTRAX and its managed railroad affiliates Great Western Railway of Colorado, LLC, Sand Springs Railway Company, and Stockton Terminal and Eastern Railroad previously won Fast Track Awards.
